Why AIMADANG?

AIMADANG is not just a list of apps.

We discover and introduce good small tools by asking ourselves these questions:

  • Does it avoid collecting excessive personal data?
  • Can it be used without logging in?
  • Could it be a good alternative to big-tech services?
  • Is it open-source or built on an open philosophy?
  • Does it genuinely help people?
  • Is it still little-known but worth discovering?

For users

Use the web like a native app

AIMADANG itself works the same way.

Android

  1. Pick a web app on AIMADANG
  2. Open the web app in Chrome
  3. Open the browser menu (⋯)
  4. Tap ‘Add to Home screen’
  5. Launch it like an app from your home screen

iPhone (iOS)

  1. Pick a web app on AIMADANG
  2. Open the web app in Safari
  3. Tap the Share button ()
  4. Tap ‘Add to Home Screen’
  5. Launch it like an app from your home screen

For creators

Register your web app

Web / App Store / Google Play creators are all welcome.

  1. Tap the ‘Register Web App’ button at the bottom
  2. Enter your web app name and launch URL
  3. Pick a category and write the introduction
  4. Add an icon and submit the request
  5. Once approved, your app appears on AIMADANG

Guidelines

Creator guidelines

  • Register only working services

    Pure pitch / landing pages aren't accepted. At least one of web · PWA · iOS · Android must launch right away.

  • Pick honest platforms

    Treat 'coming soon', 'in review', or 'planned' as not supported. Only mark the platforms you've actually tested end to end.

  • Be careful with store links

    Only submit App Store / Google Play links that you've verified install and launch. If some devices are limited, mention it in the intro.

  • PWA criteria

    A regular website isn't a PWA. Mark PWA support only when 'Add to Home Screen' and standalone launch actually work.
